To travel from Singapore to KL by bus would take you approximately 5 - 6 hours. Bus tickets can be bought at any travel agencies at Golden Mile complex in Beach Road. Price range from about S$30 and above for one way ticket. But to travel from KL to BKK by bus would most likely take about 2 days plus. Bus would take about 1 day to reach Hatyai (southern thailand), and to travel up to BKK i believe would need another 1 day. And all that excludes time to stop over. And Yes, fly by budget air would save you time and effort.
